Fighting for freedom
Freedom runs in my family, and in the families of my fellow Lithuanians. We have been freedom fighting for generations, and not about to stop any time soon. Tragically, it looks like we are now in another period of existential struggle, together with the entire democratic world.
In my time as Foreign Affairs Minister, I made sure that Lithuania became known globally as a standard-bearer in the fight for freedom and rule of law, providing huge support to Ukraine and expanding connections in the Indo-Pacific, among many other initiatives in support of democracy wherever it was under threat.
My values-based approach to foreign policy was never the easiest way, sometimes it was impossible. But it was not naïve. We see clearly today, that the survival of our freedoms relies on strong defence of our values and our borders, by means of war if necessary, never choosing dishonour, always aiming for victory, handing down a free world to our children, whatever it takes.
Evil never rests, so I'm not resting either. Subscribe and join me in the fight!

“Gabrielius Landsbergis is an extremely far-sighted foreign policy strategist, an outstanding analyst of geopolitical issues and a convinced European. As Foreign Minister of Lithuania, he was an early advocate of responding proactively to Russia's invasion of Ukraine with a policy of deterrence and of taking all measures necessary to help Ukraine achieve victory. Thanks to his foresight and determined analysis, he quickly helped Lithuania to become a highly respected voice in NATO.”
